By now, regular subscribers to this newsletter will know that it’s time once again for me to reveal my picks in the current bracket. Today wraps up the Disney heroes/villains bracket, which will pit WALL-E against Maleficent, based on the votes of hundreds (and sometimes thousands) of Twitter users. But my picks would have sent at least one different character to the Top Two.
Take a look.
First of all, you’ll notice that in my bracket, WALL-E didn’t even make it out of his first matchup, let alone make it to the Top Two. I do love the character and the 2008 film in which he appears, but Pinocchio is my all-time favorite Disney film so I wasn’t going to let the title character down. But alas.
And alas too for my pick for the best overall hero, Tiana. She got a little further in the real brackets, but she never was almost there.
Anyway, the real Top Two battle has begun, so if you haven’t voted yet, I encourage you to do so. Tomorrow, we start a new bracket: Disney theme-park lands/pavilions. Get excited.
