The Disney Theme-Park Background Music Bracket -- Round Two, Day Four

Well, friends, the time has come for us to wrap up the second round of the Disney Theme-Park Background Music bracket. As I mentioned a couple days ago, after today’s post, I’ll be taking a week off due to non-Disney-related work stuff/travel, so we’ll reconvene here on April 21 with the Sweet Sixteen of the bracket.
So that means you have to decide today which of the four remaining loops press on. You ready? Let’s go!
(1) Epcot Entrance Plaza loop vs. (9) Enchanted Tiki Room loop: I mean…we all know the Epcot entrance plaza loop is winning this one, right? It won’t be a full-on 100-0 rout, but I’m guessing it’ll be pretty lopsided. And sometimes the obvious winner is the right choice. This is one of those times.

(13) Pandora - The World of Avatar loop vs. (5) Tower of Terror queue loop: I had a kind of Michael Bluth-esque reaction to the Avatar loop making it to the second round in place of the Frontierland loop. Y’know. “…Her?” I don’t quite get it. And so you know I’m voting for the Tower of Terror loop here. The haunting echo wins the day again for me.

(2) Pirates of the Caribbean queue loop vs. (7) Grand Californian Hotel loop: I imagine that the Pirates loop will win here, even though the entire thing amounts to a repetition of the same slinky notes via jazz flute. I prefer a little bit of variety, and you’ll see what I mean in the next matchup. If only because it’s the underdog here, I pull for the Grand Californian.

(3) Disneyland Esplanade loop vs. (6) Main Street Electrical Parade OST: I know that the Main Street Electrical Parade is a wonderful nighttime show, and love it very much. But so much of what I like about the parade is the actual, in-person experience of seeing the parade floats and performers in person. The audio of “Baroque Hoedown” is all well and good, but gets a little tiresome if you listen to it on its own over and over. The loop of music at the Disneyland Esplanade is full of familiar favorites in instrumental form, but that familiarity — and variety — wins the match for me.

Main Street Electrical Parade
Fine I'll be that guy. One of the few things I remember from my only trip to Disneyland (1979, aged five) was the Tiki Room. I know this is only the ambiance music before the show, rather than the show itself, but I like the vibe better than the Epcot (which I visited much more recently) music. Maybe it's because the music's vibe is "check out all this futuristic stuff!" but my views were mostly of construction fences.
