The Ultimate Disney Parks Attraction Bracket -- Round Two, Day Nine
Welcome to Radiator Springs!
Hello, friends! It’s time for more matchups in the second round of the Ultimate Disney Parks Attraction bracket, and while you prepare to vote, ask yourself this question: when we do the social-media meme about “what society would look like if X” and have the image of the futuristic society, why can’t we have this picture of Pandora instead? Looks real pretty, no?
OK, fine, maybe it’s just me who thinks that. Anyway, to the votes!
(1) Flight of Passage vs. (33) Aladdin: A Musical Spectacular: Speaking of Flight of Passage, the big and central attraction in the Avatar-themed section of Disney’s Animal Kingdom, it’s bound to walk away with this matchup, yes? I miss the use of the Hyperion Theater as more than just a) a movie-premiere spot and b) a limited-time musical inspired by a joke in an episode of a Disney+ series, but even the video version of Flight of Passage is pretty damn impressive.
How do you vote?
Flight of Passage
Aladdin: A Musical Spectacular
(16) Voices of Liberty vs. (17) WDW Railroad: Voices of Liberty barely escaped out of the first round, and I won’t be shocked if they can’t withstand the onslaught of the Walt Disney World Railroad. But I will be voting once more for the live singing troupe, as the combination of their patriotic music and the grand acoustics of the foyer of the American Adventure pavilion makes for a hair-raising aural experience. And the Walt Disney World Railroad doesn’t have the true Primeval World section, so that’s a deal-breaker.
But what do you think?
Voices of Liberty
WDW Railroad
(8) Radiator Springs Racers vs. (25) Redwood Creek Challenge Trail: I do adore the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail, or at least its atmospheric vibes. But in the battle here, I will vote for the denizens of the world of Cars. Radiator Springs Racers does a very effective job of blending high-octane thrills with a classic dark ride. Eventually, I will vote against it, but not yet.
What do you say?
Radiator Springs Racers
Redwood Creek Challenge Trail
(9) Main Street Electrical Parade vs. (24) The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (DL): There is only one Main Street Electrical Parade, even if it has appeared at multiple parks across the country. (Don’t think about the logic of that sentence too much, but it’s true.) I like the Winnie the Pooh dark ride well enough, and have little to no nostalgia towards the attraction it replaced, but the Main Street Electrical Parade is legendary for a reason.
Main Street Electrical Parade
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (DL)
This is for the California Country Bears. Remember this day Pooh.
I will never forgive Pooh for replacing Country Bears in DL. NEVER.
