Well, friends, for all the various head-to-head matchups that surprised me, when it came down to the Top Two, there was no doubt at all among you. Between the Soarin’ queue loop and the Epcot Entrance Plaza loop, there was just one clear winner.
Your victor of the Disney Theme-Park Background Music bracket? The Epcot Entrance Plaza loop, of course. Congratulations to a medley of music that’s now over 40 years old and yet feels fresh and innovative decades later.
What comes next? Well, as you can probably imagine, the brackets will take a little break — having a gap between brackets is kind of nice, compared to the days when one bracket would end and there would be barely any daylight separating it from the next one.
And yes, there will be a next one. But it won’t be arriving until Monday, June 5 (due to work stuff and a family vacation). I don’t even mind revealing the theme to you all now, so you can spend the rest of this month getting excited. It’s the summertime, at least here in Phoenix, and summer means supersized. Yes, it’s time for a big new bracket. I’ve done supersized brackets on Disney songs, films, characters, and performances. But you know what I haven’t done?
…An ultimate, supersized 256-seed bracket on the attractions of the Disney theme parks.
Monday, June 5. Get excited. Now, have a good weekend.
Solid photo choices for the announcement. I think the final two will definitely be Disneyland’s PotC vs Rise of the Resistance.
This next one should be a doozy. Enjoy your vacay and break!
