The Disney Parks Live-Entertainment Bracket -- Round Three, Day Three
Re-enter the circle of life.
It’s a brand-new week, friends! I hope you’re all doing well, and look forward to all of us laughing at the richest man in the world being booed in public by thousands of people for a long time. (And they say Chappelle’s not funny anymore. What a hilarious stunt that produced the only reaction I imagine he was expecting!)
Anyway. Who’s ready to send a couple more live-entertainment options to the Elite Eight of the Disney Parks Live-Entertainment bracket? I am, so let’s go!
(1) Fantasmic (WDW) vs. (4) Paint the Night: Yes, that’s right, if it was up to me, I would send a top seed home today. A couple reasons for this: first, I’ve already stated my preference for the Disneyland version of Fantasmic (which is unsurprisingly headed to the next round). Compared to the version in Orlando, the version in Anaheim is just a lot better.
Nothing against the bleacher seating of Walt Disney World (which genuinely is a point in favor of the Orlando iteration of Fantasmic), but I’ve just never fully enjoyed the experience of Fantasmic. Paint the Night, on the other hand, is a great remix of nighttime parades with an electrical flair, and I would love to see it move forward. But I won’t be shocked to see two versions of Fantasmic among our final choices! What do you think?
(2) SpectroMagic vs. (3) Festival of the Lion King: SpectroMagic, man. It’s as close to a ride-or-die situation for me. So yes, even though I think both of these shows are quite good — unlike our other matchup today, I’m fine with either of these moving forward — I will lean on the show that went away years ago. Will the lights win both matchups today, or are they not shining brightly at all?
