The information in that subtitle isn’t just a message for me regarding the still-heartbreaking and frustrating Mets news from Friday night. (If you are only here for Disney bracket stuff, please know that these introductions are always going to lean on either movies or sports, and possibly both.)
It’s a hint about one of today’s matchups! And of course, the picture above is not a sign that I’ve forgotten what month it is. (It hasn’t been October for at least…oh, nine months, right?) No, that’s another hint about today’s matchups. And why waste any more time dilly-dallying around? If you haven’t subscribed yet, click the button below so you can start voting. Let’s go!
(1) World of Color vs. (16) JAMMitors: Some of these are going to be incredibly easy and incredibly lopsided, and this is no doubt one of them. World of Color is going to go far in the bracket, I imagine.
(8) A Christmas Fantasy Parade vs. (9) Halloween Screams: Recency bias being what it is, the fact that I just saw A Christmas Fantasy Parade not two weeks ago is probably helping me in my preference today. But in general, I prefer the Christmas season to the Halloween season (even though the Disneyland Christmas parade has basically gone unchanged for a decade). If you like Halloween more…well, you might help make this poll interesting. So vote!
(4) Wishes vs. (13) Star Wars A Galactic Spectacular: Nighttime shows, if you’re particularly cynical, may appear to be a dime a dozen. If you’ve seen one, you’ve seen them all. My own cynicism is such that I would prefer not to vote for a nighttime show so specifically focused on a galaxy far, far away. I have already come to terms with Galaxy’s Edge getting its own land in Walt’s original theme park. But I can’t support a nighttime show, at least not here. How about you?
(5) Frozen Live at the Hyperion vs. (12) For the First Time in Forever -- A Singalong Celebration: I guess this is kind of a coin flip, right? Two Frozen-themed live performances, with one big difference being that one’s at Walt Disney World and one was at Disneyland. Live at the Hyperion was a big part of the Disney California Adventure experience for a fair few years, until the pandemic hit and Disney just…never filled the space since then.
But I will lean towards the DCA show, in part because I do enjoy the Hyperion as a theatrical space and strongly wish that Bob Iger (who we all know is following this bracket feverishly, and Bob, I hope you’re doing well) would reopen it. But I’m also just a sucker for getting to sit in a well-ventilated space for an hour to give my legs a rest. What’s your vote?
I still miss "Wishes", ngl
Frozen Sing-A-Long is inside too. And has bad puns. That’s my pick
