The Disney Theme-Park Background Music Bracket -- Round Three, Day One
You've got a minute and a half!
Hello, friends! Well, it certainly has been a week and a half, hasn’t it? Since we last spoke, what’s happened of note? Well, relatively connected to these brackets, a) a major Disney attraction set on fire (literally over the weekend) and is likely out of commission for a long time; and b) the prospect of me ever doing these brackets on Twitter again got even smaller.
I’ll talk about Fantasmic! in a few paragraphs, but I’d just like to point out that there’s a uniquely funny sense of visiting Twitter at the moment, coupled with the awareness that it is soon going to be mortifying and embarrassing to spend even a second on a website whose owner seems to be tanking his own net worth for the lulz, and whose idiot supporters are baffled that everyone else doesn’t want to spend eight dollars for their bullshit.
Anyway. The bracket is back! We’re now in the Sweet Sixteen of the Disney Theme-Park Background Music bracket, with just 16 remaining seeds. Starting today, we’re scaling back to two matchups a day, as you start deciding what to send to the Elite Eight. Ready? Let’s go!
(8) Soarin’ queue loop vs. (4) Muppet*Vision 3D loop: A fine battle between two relaxed pieces of music, in that I will be happy if either of these wins. But if these are my choices, then I am sticking with the queue loop for Soarin’. That attraction carefully finds the right balance between being thrilling and being calming, and so too does its background music. Instrumental Muppet songs are great, but they can’t match Soarin’ to me.
What do you think?

Muppet*Vision 3D
(2) Jungle Cruise (AWOL Airwaves - WDW) queue loop vs. (3) Fantasmic soundtrack: Well, Fantasmic had a hell of a weekend, huh? If you don’t know what I mean, I mean the dragon catching fire. (I was going to embed the tweet here, but I forgot that the idiot running Twitter doesn’t want Substack newsletters to do that anymore! Fucking hell.)
Who’s to say when Fantasmic will be back in fighting trim as an attraction. Here, at least, I must admit that I will be sending it packing. If it’s up to me — and of course, it’s not — I would vote for the AWOL Airwaves loop from Jungle Cruise at Walt Disney World. But I have a feeling Fantasmic! might get enough votes from all of you.
Time to weigh in!

Love these brackets! Would you mind sharing your source of all this wonderful audio? Thanks for doing this!
