The Disney Theme-Park Background Music Bracket -- Round Four, Day Four

The 21st century has already begun, but it started in 1982.

Welcome to the month of May, everyone! It’s time for us to start the month off by wrapping up another round of the Disney Theme-Park Background Music bracket. Just one spot remains in the Final Four of the bracket, and we can’t get that next round started before deciding the last finalist.

So it’s time to decide between two different loops at two different theme parks’ entrance areas. You ready? Let’s go!

(1) Epcot Entrance Plaza loop vs. (3) Disneyland Esplanade loop: By now, you can probably guess what I’m going to vote for. You know that I’ve preferred — largely — atmosphere over all in this bracket. Some great background music is essentially quoting ride audio in some capacity, or the audio of a given nighttime show. But much of my favorite background music evokes atmosphere more than anything else.

So, our options are the Epcot Entrance Plaza queue loop and the Disneyland Esplanade loop. It should not surprise you that my choice is the Epcot Entrance Plaza loop. Here is a stretch of audio that inspires you to think of the future, and to do so with excitement, enthusiasm, and hope. Yes, the loop at the Disneyland Esplanade is charming and full of recognizable favorites. But the interpretations of what you can expect in Epcot — or, rather, what you could expect on opening day in 1982 — hit the atmospheric sweet spot for me.

But my vote doesn’t count. How about you? What do you say?
