The Disney Theme-Park Background Music Bracket -- Round Four, Day Three
A great big, beautiful tomorrow is here.
We’re one day closer, friends…to Justin Verlander’s first start as a New York Met. Right? We have to be, right? RIGHT?
OK, we’re also one day closer to having a Final Four of the Disney Theme-Park Background Music bracket. Right now, we have a Top Two. It’s time for you to bid adieu to April and start voting on the third finalist. Now! Go!
(1) Main Street USA loop vs. (14) Carousel of Progress Suite loop: If you have followed these brackets long enough, you know that sometimes, I’m like Don Quixote. Sometimes, I am tilting at windmills. Today is, I imagine, one of those times. For many of you, I am sure the choice will be easy. It’s gotta be Main Street, U.S.A., right? How could it not be? The original opening land! Walt’s apartment! Quintessential Disney!
I know. I get it. But we’re voting on music, and the way that music makes you feel. As I noted yesterday, it’s about atmosphere. And while the Carousel of Progress Suite does inherently evoke memories of a specific attraction, I prefer the jazzy, mid-century vibe of the various interpretations of the Sherman Brothers’ song to the various turn-of-the-century pastiches in Main Street. I want to be surprised here, but I am prepared to send the future packing.
Will you surprise me?
Main Street, U.S.A.
