On any other day I'd have voted for Tom Sawyer's Island - I love it, my partner loves it, my kids love it. BUT you put it up against Mr Toad. Losing Mr Toad in the 90s was painful for us long-time WDW-ers. No, I never wore the shirts or protested in the park. But I was sad to see it go. I think of it fondly.
GOTG Mission: Breakout defender here. It's the gold standard for how to re-skin an already great ride and make it better. Storytelling, thrills, kick-ass soundtrack. The queue and preshow are solid, with Easter eggs galore. It was the one attraction at DLP/DCA that the kids demanded we ride again, even before Rise of the Resistance.
I was underwhelmed with Mission Breakout myself. It honestly feels more like a Universal simulator with a drop. And while that’s fun, even as a big Guardians fan, I’d much rather do Tower of Terror. Not to mention that the exterior’s redesign is an eyesore.
Count me among the Mr. Toad aficionados. Yes, it's essentially a carnival ride, but it was always great to see a little chaos in the Kingdom. I'm also a big fan of dark rides. Tom Sawyer Island is a wonderful experience and has a little darkness of its own in the caves; the PB&J is one of the least expensive food options in the park...but the kid in me is still going with Mr. Toad.
As I wrote in my famous Disney World adventure piece for Roger Ebert dot com, I got stuck on the Toy Story ride and it was HELL! I was then beaten up by Woody at his photo area for complaining about this (this explains the "you know what you did, Woody!" I keep saying whenever you try to make me vote for him). So I voted AGAINST Toy Story!! I voted for Mr. Toad simply because it inspired a hilarious joke on ABBOTT ELEMENTARY (and also, I like the ride.)
I like the look of the DCA Tower. But I can no longer go on the attraction (I used to be able to ride ToT once per day, if it wasn't too warm and I was otherwise feeling okay). The new lift/drop sequences are too much for me. So I voted against Guardians on that basis as much as the lovely nostalgia of CircleVision (these are lean rails, do not sit on them!).
I’m voting against guardians out of principle, I don’t want it winning and anyone thinking they can change it in wdw 😂

IIRC the only significant difference between the little mermaid rides is that only the DCA version has the hidden Mr. Limpet figure.
