The Ultimate Disney Parks Attraction Bracket -- Round One, Day Thirty-Two
A world of laughter AND a world of tears? In THIS economy?!?
Folks, we did it. It’s here - the final day of the first round of the Ultimate Disney Parks Attraction bracket! (Yes, I know, it’s still quite a mouthful.) After today, we’ll embark upon the second round of the bracket, as you’ll have whittled down 256 contenders in half, to just 128. I’ll spend part of tomorrow’s post — not a lengthy part, I promise — highlighting what you can start getting when I open up the paid-subscription option as well.
But for now, you have just four more decisions to make before round two begins. Let’s go!
(6) It’s a Small World (DL) vs. (59) Chip ‘n’ Dale’s Treehouse: At some point in this bracket, I may have to spend more time talking about why I do not like the presence of Disney characters in It’s a Small World. (My mileage on said characters varies, in no small part based on how well they’re inserted into the various pre-established scenes.) For now, though, it’s an easy vote as I presume many of us will send through the creepiest dolls—er, the happiest dolls to the next round.

(27) Mickey’s PhilharMagic (WDW) vs. (38) Magic Journeys: I know that for some folks, Magic Journeys is a highly placed defunct Epcot attraction. While the song is well-made and weirdly a little spooky, I’m much more inclined here to vote for the very funny Mickey’s PhilharMagic, even accounting for the not-terribly-logical inclusion of Coco.
How about you?

(11) Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters vs. (54) Main Street Vehicles: While I like the idea of the Main Street Vehicles — at either Disneyland or Walt Disney World, feel free to take your pick when voting — I’ve never ridden them myself. And I very much enjoy getting to a high score on Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters. It’s Buzz for me this time around.

(22) Liberty Square Riverboat vs. (43) Refreshment Corner Ragtime Pianist: An inversion of another first-round matchup! A riverboat against ragtime! But I’m still leaning in favor of Mark Twain (who does show up as a character on this riverboat, if my memory serves correctly), and the riverboat.
What say all of you?

Refreshment Corner Ragtime Pianist
I voted in the minority for several of these today. Oh well. As an aside: I went to the Disney 100 exhibit at the Franklin Institute yesterday and I thought of you. Some amazing stuff there. Took lots of pictures. A major plus: They show a clip from THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG so we get to hear "Almost There" blasting through the exhibit. Made me happy.
Was beginning to wonder if I somehow missed a day where DLR's "it's a small world" was up. Glad to see it'll likely move to round 2. :-) though if a bunch of Chip n Dale treehouse fans show up and outvote it, I would respect it because it would be so funny
