The Ultimate Disney Parks Attraction Bracket -- Round Three, Day Three
The highway! The open road!
Hello, friends, and welcome to another Friday here in the dog days of summer. (Sure feels the dog days in my neck of the woods, let me tell you.) Who’s ready for some more matchups in the third round of the Ultimate Disney Parks Attraction bracket? The choices are getting harder and harder, so prepare yourself.
(1) Fantasmic (DL) vs. (17) Disneyland Monorail: It would be a hell of a thing if a number-one seed fell at this stage of the bracket, but I can’t do it. The Disneyland Monorail is great and all, but I kind of prefer the feeling of the Walt Disney World Monorail, because the experience of soaring right next to the big golf ball known as Spaceship Earth is just very cool. And soaring through Buena Vista Street is…less so.
And also, Fantasmic — even with a charred dragon at the moment — is peak Disney nighttime spectacular. It gets my vote. How about you?
Fantasmic (DL)
Disneyland Monorail
(8) Rock’n’Roller Coaster vs. (9) Grizzly River Run: How Rock’n’Roller Coaster made it this far will do nothing less than baffle me. I don’t expect either of these attractions to make it out of the next round, but c’mon. It’s gotta be Grizzly River Run.
…right?
Rock’n’Roller Coaster
Grizzly River Run
(4) Kilimanjaro Safaris vs. (20) Incredicoaster: On one hand, you always know what you’re getting with the Incredicoaster, and it can be a crapshoot of what you’re getting with the Kilimanjaro Safaris. (You never know which animals will or won’t be out on the savanna when you ride the latter, as I’m sure many of you already know.)
On the other hand, it’s a vote between “Wow, that smells like chocolate chip cookies” and “Wow, a real lion”. The lions (and other assorted African animals) win this one for me. How about you?
Kilimanjaro Safaris
Incredicoaster
(5) Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride (DL) vs. (21) Disneyland PeopleMover: There is only one remaining Mr. Toad ride, and there is only one remaining PeopleMover. I hope both move on in this bracket, but the Disneyland PeopleMover has to go away based on that theory. And I think that theory is sound!
Vote for the toad.
Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride (DL)
Disneyland PeopleMover
Some people say Rise of the Resistance is peak Disney ride engineering, but I maintain that it’s the Kilimanjaro Safari(okay, maybe it’s Haunted Mansion). Although I do wish it kept the conservation/anti-poaching messaging.
Grizzly Tiver is so freaking good. When its been not hot & sun setting I've ridden it multiple times without getting off cause it's just so pretty and awesome
