The Ultimate Disney Parks Attraction Bracket -- Round Seven, Day Two
Welcome...to the Twilight Zone.
Well, friends, the day is almost here. We’re almost at the big finish of the Ultimate Disney Parks Attraction bracket. One-half of the Top Two is already completed, and while I would love to insert some pithy commentary here about whichever ride between Pirates of the Caribbean and The Haunted Mansion survived yesterday’s battle, I am writing these words yesterday (AKA Tuesday, the 15th). So I have no idea what won!
And I am not entirely sure I know what’s going to win today! Let’s find out together.
(3) Tower of Terror vs. (3) Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (WDW): First of all, I should note that I am generally fine with the Final Four of our bracket. The four remaining attractions, he said as he typed an hour before the Final Four officially began, are all stone-cold classics. If they were songs, you would say they slapped and/or banged. (Do people still say that? Can we stop?)
The point here is, I am fine with any of these four winning the whole thing, and thus, I am fine with either the Tower of Terror or Big Thunder Mountain Railroad winning today’s match. And while I don’t vote, if I did…well, I do have a preference. And that would be the Tower of Terror. There’s only one of its kind now, truly, and as much as I miss it in Disney California Adventure, being the one of its kind makes it all the more special. And I do love the Big Thunder Mountain…but there’s two of its kind. (I don’t know why that matters to me — I’ve seen a few folks comment as much wondering why the duplication of a ride should sway a vote one way or the other. I don’t have a great answer for you! Sometimes the heart wants what it wants.)
I say Tower. How about you?
Tower of Terror
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (WDW)
Let’s go Tower! It’s still the pinnacle of imagineering’s work to me, along with the Indy Adventure ride at DL.
Tower should win not just today, but in the final as well.
