Gutting to vote against Swing Time...but there's simply no choice. The last great R&H (which includes some Rodgers lyrics) and with two incredible central performances - it's just no contest. I voted Annie over the Beatles because I'm a musical theater guy and sometimes you just gotta be petty. And something would need to be REALLY great to make me vote against Lenny.
There is no justice in the world. Annie is (likely) moving on to round three, and Swing Time (likely) isn't.
That said, I can hardly blame people who vote for Sound of Music, one of the best film musicals of all time. But I completely agree that Astaire and Rogers should have lasted longer in this bracket.
You mentioned who sang for the lead in another movie (not going to look it up). I have wanted to know who sings for Christopher Plummer? It has to be a Disney person?
I'm sorry, Fred and Ginger. I'm so so sorry. There was just NO WAY I could vote against Sound of Music.
Tim, Bernadette, Carol > John, Paul, George, Ringo
Hard Knock Life > Hard Day's Life
There, I said it!

Without “On The Town” we wouldn’t have “Springfield Springfieeeeeeeld” so easy vote for me!
The bracket structure is leading to some very tough matches already. Glad to see 42nd Street holding strong!

It is -- Bill Lee.
