The Broadway version of Once is even better than the movie. Check it out if it’s ever near you.

If I have to choose between Singin’ in the Rain and Once in the next round, I’m going to have a very rough day.

Man. I love the Muppets. But here we go again! The Muppet Movie is the greatest of the Muppet movies (although I really love Take Manhattan as well) with some of the greatest songs created for them - including Rainbow Connection which I sing to my boys every night. But Fiddler on the Roof is one of the great American creations. It includes an all-time great score by two of the greatest masters, Bock and Harnick. (I've now realized that I've landed on the word "great" as my adjective of choice for this rant.) It's centered on one of the greatest and most unique performances by a man who is basically remembered for THIS ROLE. Its creation was lead by one of the American musical theater's greatest director/choreographers. AND it's accompanying musical score was done by THE master of 20th century film music, John Williams - FOR WHICH HE WON AN OSCAR!! Aaaarrrrgggghhh!

Also, voting against Howard Ashman, Alan Menken, and Frank Oz feels shitty. Gotta go take a bath, now.

I adored Singin' in the Rain when I was a child, but I had to choose the musical I'm prepared to sing (in its entirety) at a moment's notice. People will pay me to be inhumane.
