Abbott definitely had a better first season than Park's first season! Abbott has a slight chance of eventually being better than Parks, but it needs a little more runtime for me.
I like Abbot a lot, but while it has some great jokes and fun characters, there's nothing about it that feels new. Also, as noted in the last matchup today, you don't get to Abbott without Parks, so...
New Girl really morphed into a show much weirder and sharper than it had any right to be and still contains one of my favorite TV ensembles. You don’t gave New Girl without TMTMS and there’s some great performances there that hold up but it didn’t do much for me in terms of laughs rewatching as an adult.
Ask me again in a few years and I bet I pick Abbott over Parks. And that's wild, because Parks is one of my favorite shows of all time.
