I hope you know what the line in the subhed means. If you don’t, the photo below the ad here will clue you in. It’s an important day in the first round of the Ultimate TV Comedies Bracket, and I want you to get ready to vote.
Let’s go!
(2) The Simpsons vs. (63) Step by Step: Well…I mean, come on. We know it’s going to be The Simpsons. Is it the greatest sitcom ever? I don’t think so (I think its best days are literally decades behind it), but…it’s an easy win here.
The Simpsons
Step by Step
(31) The Righteous Gemstones vs. (34) black-ish: Here’s one of those times I’m glad I don’t vote, because I’ve only seen a couple episodes of black-ish and no episodes of The Righteous Gemstones. I have no idea what should win or will win.
That’s up to you. So vote!
The Righteous Gemstones
black-ish
(15) Police Squad! vs. (50) Search Party: Nothing against Search Party, but one of the funniest lines in all of television history came in Police Squad!, which introduced the world to Frank Drebin before the Naked Gun films came along. Watch the clip here and tell me I’m wrong.
Police Squad!
Search Party
(18) The Thick of It vs. (47) Malcolm in the Middle: If I had to guess, I imagine Malcolm in the Middle will win here because more of you may be familiar with it. But I am telling you — and hell, maybe I’ll be wrong, so I may not need to tell you — that The Thick of It is incredibly funny, incisive political satire. If you like Veep, you gotta give credit to this show for putting its creators on the path to success in the States.
How do you vote?
The Thick of It
Malcolm in the Middle
If there's any justice, Frank Drebin should take the whole thing.
Blackish was a great family comedy that covered many important topics. I learned plenty of things while watching, and it always had plenty of laughs.
