South Park is a strange one in that I think it’s harder to identify specific seasons where the show was at its peak- as mentioned in the poll it’s very uneven from episode to episode; and all-timer classics can be surrounded by weaker stories. Like most shows they needed a while to hit their stride, and arguably the show got better when the pop-culture fervor around Cartman died down.
For my money, the strongest episodes are the ones when you can tell the writers have been ruminating on a story for a while (unsurprisingly). Generating an entire episode in a week lets them hit current events before anyone except late-night hosts, but also means they tend to default to “take the most outrageous stance on this issue and riff on it” instead of really digging for the comedy.

I’m personally hoping for a golden girls sweep.
I need South Park vs Golden Girls like I need air. The comments will be such quality content.
