Eep, so conflicted again...Antonio Banderas first impressed me back in Women On the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown and did so again in Mambo Kings...but I never watched the film Evita. Blame it on Patti Lupone. The rest were easy choices, despite my admiration of Emma Thompson (just not that film). Your film choices this week are making me sound like a crybaby (I am NOT), but Jessie's Song? PAINFUL but beautiful, absolutely unforgettable to anyone who's ever been in the position of having to say goodbye to someone they loved when that person moves on.
Crying because Antonio Banderas doesn’t stand a chance. He is AMAZING in Evita.
This was probably a typo, but it’s Ming-Na Wen. 😊 She (as you probably know) is one of the few to have roles in Disney, Star Wars, & Marvel.
My hot take of the day is that Chris Cooper’s Tex Richman > Doc Hopper
A scalding hot take indeed!
