As for Paul Newman, what exactly did he do in THE COLOR OF MONEY (one of Scorsese's worst movies) to win that Oscar? I'll tell you: He was nominated for a bunch of far more worthy performances and the Academy punked out and gave him an Oscar for this because they owed him. Eartha Kitt is a far more worthy choice there. Hell, Eartha Kitt in THE COLOR OF MONEY would have made it a better movie!
