Maybe the toughest matchup yet. I like Michael Caine's performance more, personally, I revisit it far more often. Yet Julie Andrews' is the quintessential Disney performance, and frankly, should win the whole thing.
I will always hold a grudge against Mary Poppins the movie, because back in the Stone age my Mom took me to see a double feature of Mary Poppins and Lady and the Tramp. Poppins came on first, and I watched all 472 hours of it. As soon as Lady and the Tramp came on, I fell asleep. I didn't see Lady and the Tramp until 30 years later. So, I'm mad at Mary Poppins, the movie, but not at Mary herself! Plus, at Disney World, she told me her BLEEP was practically perfect! So a vote for Mary!
Michael Caine is great, and this is not a hard decision. Julie Andrews should win the whole thing.
