This is one where voice work vs live action makes it tough. I love Joan Cusack as Jessie but Lloyd’s performance just involves so much more detail, from his imposing physicality to the FX and transformation he deals with at the end.
That transformation is horrifying. That stayed with me a lot longer than Jessie's song, sweet and heartbreaking as it is.
