Never thought Seinfeld was funny. Which puts it in a part with post-2000 Simpsons. Good thing we have pre-2000 Simpsons.

I just finished reviewing the first 10 seasons of The Simpsons so I know from immediate experience just how good those early seasons are, with a reminder of where it will go after that glorious run. Even if it runs for another 50 mediocre years, nothing will diminish those first 8ish seasons.

I did go with Seinfeld, although I’m one of those people who think the show wasn’t the same after Larry David left (or hell, even the first director- season 6 is kind of rough in hindsight), but if The Simpsons wins, which is looking likely so far, it’d be deserved.

Wow. I'm actually ambivalent, here. I've seen scores of eps of both shows and watched them both frequently (but not religiously) while they were originally running. And honestly, I can take 'em or leave 'em. Both were unique feeling when they premiered. Both have great writing and great voices/comedians. Both were massive cultural touchstones - truly iconic. I hope neither of them win this whole thing, though.

Both amazing shows, and either would be a worthy champion.
