Well, friends, we’ve made it to the end of the Sweet Sixteen of the Ultimate TV Comedies bracket. As we prepare to scale back to just one matchup per day starting tomorrow with the arrival of the Elite Eight, I hope you’re ready to send two more shows to the next round and two more shows to the showers. (Metaphorically speaking.)

Let’s go!

(2) The Simpsons vs. (7) Parks and Recreation: Listen, Parks and Recreation had a good run. I can go on and on here about how The Simpsons had glory days that stopped being glorious back in the late 1990s, but I do not expect Leslie Knope and the citizens of Pawnee to mount much of an upset here.

(3) Seinfeld vs. (6) Veep: Julia vs. Julia! Elaine vs. Selina! Newman vs. Jonah! (You tell me if that’s an apt comparison.) Though two Julia Louis-Dreyfuses will enter the thunderdome, just one will emerge victorious, and I…am voting for Elaine Benes and her goofy dancing. I will admit I don’t rewatch either of these shows, but Seinfeld is the better of these series to me.
